In the Oregon Backcountry trip. I am thinking 4 nights (on trail), so perhaps drive to Oregon Thursday, travel Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, return Tuesday.
Please let me know if you are interested. This would be probably in early June. I am trying to figure out if there is enough interest and nail down the dates for people to plan. This would be a family friendly trip with open to most vehicles. There will probably be some mud and water, but mostly fire/powerline paths.
I am thinking Route 5 section 2 and 1 (yellow and red on map) - approx 370 miles (although might shorten section 2). For more info see here:

Suzi and I have been talking about this trip. We are trying to decide between Oregon or the National Rally. I already have the time off for the National Rally but could easily switch it around.
I was really bummed I missed Oregon last year due to too much wrong with my truck and starting a new job. So Suzi and I are leaning towards Oregon this year. I know "superpowerdave" and his family are VERY interested in this trip.

Have Pett's Wag Bag will travel! I am in David!
And please remind me not to bring any firewood! :)
Since the CT110 has been to the Oregon trail, I am planning to bringing the 04 D2 this time (windows "up" and AC on :D).
And David, I mentioned that 04 D2 was no longerl (going for an LR3 instead). During the init test drive, the 04 D2 drove nicely, but saw some oil leak between the auto tranny and engine during inspection (looks to be a rear main seal leak). Walked away.
Well, got a call back from the seller this week, and managed to meet half-way with lowering price, and extended warranty that covers engine/powertrain and seals/gaskets. Long story short, 04 D2 is now sitting in my drive way! :)
Good hearing from you again!

Put us down as a maybe. I'd kinda written off the Oregon trip this year since we are leaving for Alaska mid-June. But if the Oregon trip is the second weekend in June, we could maybe join you for a couple days and then head on north. We don't have ferry reservations yet so the start of our trip is not nailed down either.
We did Route 3 last year so your choice of Route 5 is a good one. It will be new but similar territory. Good choice!
UPDATE: Our ferry reservation is for Friday, June 27 so we will be leaving home around June 23/24. We would plan to return home after the Oregon event so earlier in June is better. Thanks! :D

Would love to do this, but not sure how I am going to be able to.
