Phone OS Question

Thoughts on the Windows 7 OS for cell phones? My wife just got the HTC HD7 and I have to admit that I am pretty jealous of it. Before I spring for one, any thoughts? Main use will be for phone (duh), email, text, internet access, and the occasional reading of pdf and Word docs.

I am stuck with T-Mobile so please hold off on the "iPhone is better" comments until the government approves the T-Mobile/AT&T merger!

Oh, and I'm currently using an Android OS, which I really like but the screen doesn't scroll as smooth or as fast as the HTC HD7. Will I be giving up too much by switching from the Android to the Windows 7 OS or will I be gaining anything? Which one has the better future? I'm not very tech savvy so I am relying on my fellow rover-phites for advice.

so in general.. the Microsoft phones have historically been... nice but riddled with bugs.. I hear Win7 phones are very nice. however interface is not what you need to look at as much as if you are looking at a smart phone look at the apps avail prior to the purchase. I am heavily invested in iOS with a iPhone and iPad... my wife loves her G2 android phone but had to wait a bit longer than she would have liked for some apps to come out for it...

Came home from work today and my wifey had an HTC HD7 phone waiting for my just because she loves me. Yup, she's a keeper!
