Aww, I don't think I'll be able to make this meeting. I need to be in Palo Alto around 11:30 to drop off my fiancee (and her costumes for a play), then head down to San Jose. My friend's dad has a custom built cargo storage bin that I want to look at and get some ideas for covering my Tuffy box. But, there is the MORG the week before, Wilderness Training and the MORG for May, so I should meet a good size group of new people. Wow, suddenly my weekend calendar is quite busy for the next month.

What time is the meeting? This link says 1 pm: http://nclrclub.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=33&Itemid=111

And this one says 2 pm: http://nclrclub.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=115&Itemid=31

Looks like i'll be able to make an event finally. . .my first one! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Just curious if we're doing any sort of a swap meet at Mexxi's? Here's a rundown of stuff I have:

Stock springs and shocks steering stabilizer, about 82,000 miles on them
Plastic door sills, removed for RTE sliders
Stock CD changer, needs repair, makes a constant clicking sound
Factory fog lights, one mount is broken on driver's side, passenger side is fine
Unused spare tire, Pirelli Scorpion 255/65/R16

Hey Luis, are the two little ones coming with you also?

We will be there, with little girl too! And maybe my neighbors (who did the club logo design) and maybe El Wayno and the Mrs......

For events like this, and Mexxi's food, I tend to spread the word...

I would bring the 2 girls but since they are Toy poodles and not Chihuahuas they may not be allowed in Mexxis :D

I see you're making progress in leaps and bounds on that Disco...Nice; I'm officially jealous. ;)

Well shoot, I am going to have to miss the meeting now. I spent the morning under my Rover, and it does not look like I'll be able to drive it today.

The whole time I was under there, I was thinking of Gary's 'Air Suspension' thread on LRRForums. . .mine's acting up. I just had a major overhaul of mine done by my mechanic, but it looks like something was missed. I didn't have the time or the means to track it down this morning.

Bummer, see you guys at the next one.

I heard something about giving people a sledgehammer and charging $10 per swing as a moneyraiser for Shrek's new doors... guess that translates into a free drink or two!!

Chuck, your Prius showed up a little late, so we canceled the sledgehammer fundraiser ;)

Brenton by the way, I can mail the rubber grommets for your CB install since I missed the mtg today @ Mexxis. I had to stick w/my volunteer commitment for SAR (Search and Rescue) team; just PM your address and grommets on the way.

Also I will respond to your question re: Firestik antena(s). Chat with you soon!

And guys yes I missed the meeting today @ Mexxis; looks like another good time for meet, greet & eat! I was busy all a.m. and part of the afternoon volunteering for SAR. Catch up with you guys soon; here are pics. C yah next time.

Pics from the Seach and Rescue Training Scenario #20 while you guys partied like Rock Stars @ Mexxis! :)

I was in scenario #20 - trapped victim in a bldg. Scenario: the big one (earthquake) hit the Bay Area. The Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) teams were mobilized to help locate injured people and get them to the Emergency Medical Technicians as fast and efficiently as possible. During the quake, lumber and other objects fell on me knocking me unconcious. SAR will need to find me in the dark basement (no electricity due to power outage/damaged by the quake), locate my injury (make-up was applied on the left side of my head to simulate head injuries), put me on a stretcher, and get me to the EMTs.

After my SAR Academy trng in May, I will be doing this again as rescuer this time!

Pic 1: Both SAR and volunteer victims check-in 7:30am
Pic 2: Command Post; handling the communication
Pic 3: One of the many trailers full of equipment
Pic 4: 4x4 Vehicles
Pic 5: Including ATVs
Pic 6: Getting my fake head wound/blood make-up on
Pic 7: Volunteer with fake head injury
Pic 8: Another volunteer consumed by Carbon Monoxide
Pic 9: And more victims - waiting area till we get called to report to our stations/scenarios
Pic 10: Me a lil white base make-up (to look pale) and fake blood (can't see it well) on my left side above and behind the ear.

More pics

Pic 1: ATV used to transport volunteers and equipment from var locations/scenarios
Pic 2: Signage
Pic 3: Training in abandoned bldg
Pic 4: Perfect place to lay as a victim and ready to be found by SAR; no electricity (power outtage due to the quake), dark basement.....
Pic 5: Atleast I have a mat to lay-on during this excercise to make it comfy and dirt free from the dirty floor
Pic 6: That's me (repeated 6 times tru out the day). Ok, wood on my back not enough to cause injury, but this predent like they were 4x6 beams and many of them!
Pic 7: After going tru head to toe check, vital check, etc.... each team strapped me to a stretcher, and carried me out of the bldg!
Pic 8: Excercise was called over at 2pm and everyone headed to the command post for debriefing.
Pic 9: About 1hr of debriefing by the head cheese of SAR operations
Pic 10: Contra Costa Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) team; 200 volunteers + new trainees (including me) underway!

See this is why I can't be a SAR Volunteer...no one wants to practice carrying an guy who weighs 285 out of a building...they look at me, no matter what my condition and just decide I must be dead already!

Looks like fun Ron...

Lol!

You'd be surprised Mike; there were some big guys both victims (volunteer) and Search and Rescuer volunteers.

Look pic # 10 on my last post; the guy walking/passing me in the pic (and a few others) was neck level to my D2's roof line (with the lift and new tires, my D2 stands about 6'3" to the roof line).

It was actually fun, and learning opp; being the victim or receiver of the emergency treatments yesterday, gave me a good sense of what to do as a rescuer; just need to take the SAR training and keep up w/training and exercise till the actual moment! C yah!

Well, I thought I would be able to squeeze this in, but my father's here from Texas and we threw a party, never could get past the honeydo list. Jarrell if you want to use the forklift for the spring installation let me know.

The ABS/TC/HDC Lights will come on. You need Tony to hook it up and reprogram the computer to springs. Had to do that to the D2 I had.
