Steve,
I don't think they have reservations... I think its first come, first served at the Sycamore camp. I think if you got there early Friday you would be fine.

I will camp this time... maybe Friday or Saturday.

There are some camp sites up above the obstacle course near the bathroom. Probably a little sunnier and not so damp.

Sycamore can just get kinda cramped on the weekends.

Well, any campsite will work for me, but I won't get there till around 6pm on friday night. If it's first come first serve, do you guys think I'll get a spot? If not, I'll just show up early on saturday. Friday night would be pretty cool also though,

Last time I was at Hollister - for the Fremont Dealer Event - I was told by the ranger at the kiosk we could camp there. We found a spot in Sycamore so didn't try the other site. And yes, Sycamore was crowded and noisy.

That sounds like a good spot to set up camp, everyone should be able to find it. I'll try and set up there friday night, so if anyone wants to come early saturday morning I'll be there awake and with coffee.

So to return to my earlier question, are we then in agreement to meet up at ESTEBAN's camp site above te obstacle course, or do we still meet at 10:00 at the kiosk?

codynt, usually around 10 at the obstacle course. Some people show up earlier. More people may chime in as Saturday approaches. I'll probably be at the ranger station around 9:30 to air down, see who else shows up, and head out about 9:50 or so to the obs course.

I will not make it to MORG this time; I am few "Honey Do" list to do this wknd to make up for entire may including wknd dedicated to my Search and Rescue training.
I might show up @ Mexxis Sat 4ish to get some fresh air (and enjoy good food).
Brenton, won't be at this MORG this time to tune your CB. But if want to borrow it, let me know; most likely I will be in the June MORG.
Have fun guys tomorrow MORG!

Aye, it was a great time. Jarell spoted codynt through the rock garden at the obstacle area flawlessly. That RR looked like one of those old kung-fu movies where the fighters run through the canopies of the trees barely making a mark on the branches. We had more than a few runs at the mud pit. All who attempted it made it through with flying colors. Overall a great time!
Now I need that photo of me doing a Captain Morgan at Jarell's Curve so I can FINNALY change my Avatar.
Great seeing some of the other guys at Mexxi's afterwards as well. The food was excellent as usual and the band was rockin'!! Had to leave the party a little early; my wife wanted to go see Iron Man. Go wach it, by the way. Loved it!!

Sorry I wasn't there this time my stomach was feeling sickly so I took it easy for the day. The Tuffy box did get bolted to the floor though. IronMan is great. I saw it on Wed. at a pre-screening through SEGA since I work at Secret Level, the developers of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game.

Sweet pics!
Yeah, LR on truck hill! Awesome guys keeping up with the MORG!
I drove up that hill on my D1 a fews years ago; it's an adrenaline pumping run! Pic doesn't show how steep that climb it; have to be there appreciate it!
Looks very intimidating from the bottom, but once you are up there, pedal to the meta and just gol!
Again, cool pics!

Those are some good photos! Conquering truck hill felt a ton easier than five fingers, although I have to say that truck hill was very silty, almost like driving on a beach. I think Jarrell had a little "pucker factor" happening on the way down. :D

Hey Steve, was your CDL engaged for the climb up Truck Hill? That's another spot I'd like to tackle sometime. Good to hear it was easier than Five Fingers, I thought it would have been harder. Hmmm, I wonder if Truck Hill gets shut down like Five Fingers during the dry months? Maybe it'll still be open for the next MORG. What are your pointers for the ascent and descent?

Lets see, CDL engaged, tires aired down to 20 psi, 4-lo, 1st gear, TC was turned off. The engine growled at @ 4500 rpm all the way up. Honestly it was pretty effortless, and to think that hill has been taunting me for the last year.... Five Fingers was a much more technical climb, you did five fingers, you can do this one.
The way down the HDC work flawlessly.

Wow, 1st gear huh? I thought a higher gear is what you'd need for climbing that hill. I did Five Fingers in 1st gear the first time up (March MORG), and 3rd gear on my second run (April MORG). Driving it in 3rd seemed to help out more for the hill climb.

Did you have it in Manual mode or regular? If it was regular shift mode it probably put it in first for you.

I wanted to join up driving my wife's MkIII, but coaching baseball takes precedence.
I can't wait to show my wife the pics of Nicolas's MkIII covered in mud and tackling the rock garden. Then again maybe I shouldn't. ;)
Out of simpathy, she switched vehicles with me for the time being. Now that I'm driving her MkIII, I'm in noooooooooooo hurry to get shrek fixed.

The STT's worked like a charm - I didn't realize that they were running at ~50psi at the start (!) but once aired down to ~34-36 they were great. Great on the street too!
BTW, sidenote - I've seen a kitted out LR3 around the Marina in SF several times, winch and all in (I think) dark green. Does anyone know whose that is?

Well, I downloaded the videos I took of the May MORG last night. I just realized that the "aspect Ratio" was set incorrectly and now the trucks look like some giant hand pushed in from both ends and made them shorter and taller. Since I was the only one taking video, I will try posting them tonight anyway so you can at least see some of the stuff we did, even if it looks funky. Hopefully I can atleast figure out how to do that much right ;) Sorry, my first Camcorder, still reading the manual :D
