Beat me to it Mark. Well I'm not sure what the plan is exactly, other than those who will be attending the Rubicon trip in Sept. are meeting with Tim Scully to go over vehicle inspection and a rock clinic. I do not know the details of where and when we are doing this. I assume in the old obstacle course, but I'm sure Ron will fill in the details. It's my understanding that non-Rubicon trip people are more than welcome to watch the clinic, but are asked to not take a lot of Tim's time by interruptions since people on the trip are paying for Tim's time and advice. This is as the clinic is happening, afterwards I'm sure he'll answer anyones questions, but I'll let Tim make that call of course :)

Ditto Brenton.

Prep/inspection location is a secret - only attendees know. J/k.

Waiting to get details from Tim; since Tim's time is limited, we want to spend his on vehicle inspection for folks going to the trip.

But not to snob others not going to the Rubicon - stop by and say hello after the prep/inspection.

Also rumors has it that Tim might be sporting a new LR4 for demo purpose; not to take to the Rubicon - he is involved in dealer events in the Bay Area promoting the 2010 LR models; he is helping showcase the new models.

C yah @ the MORG.

Brenton, I still have Linus's vest. Remind me to give it to you and he can pick it up at the MORG.
Mark, I'll believe it when I see it. You know, your truck seeing dirt......

There are lots of places to fill-up along 25/San Benito St. in Hollister.

I have family in town, but will try my hardest to drag them down.

Need to take the DII out for a spin...hopefully my 16" wheels and tires (thanks in advance Ron!) will be mounted before the trip!

I am interested to see how the DII compares to the LR3.

Both rigs are high up on the racks at Cerrone's getting heart transplants.

So I got no rig to wheel with on Saturday.

Gary, let me know if you are going for just the Rock Crawling clinic. If you are, and are then coming back fairly soon, maybe Lil'Crawlr and I might catch a ride with you. I'd like to be in on the Rubi Planning part of the day...

Disco2Guy
07-29-2009, 12:19 PM
If the ride with Gary doesn't work out for you I can pick you and Tyler up. I'm not planning to really do much other than attend the clinic. I will be meeting with Ron to drop off the food donations at St. Joseph's on the way down too.

Where would a good place to meet up be for you? I could hook up at 92 and 101 (foster City) or 84/280 (Roberts Market) -- or maybe someplace different. I forgot where you live...

What time on Saturday morning would you like us to meet up?

Disco2Guy
07-29-2009, 03:12 PM
It'll just be me driving so there will be lots of room. I need to talk to Ron about the food donation we are doing at St. Joseph's on the way to Hollister. I assume that should only add 30 minutes total to the trip as they're about a mile off the 101 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=7950+CHURCH+ST,+STE+A,+GILROY,+CA&sll=37.75581,-122.476204&sspn=0.012249,0.027702&ie=UTF8&ll=37.015849,-121.5746&spn=0.01237,0.027702&t=h&z=16&saddr=1710+19th+Ave,+San+Francisco,+CA+94122&daddr=7950+Church+St,+Gilroy,+CA+95020). Tentative plan is to be there around 9am, so let's plan on leaving Robert's ~ 8am.

I just posted the meeting time for the Rubicon prep/inspection w/Tim in the official thread. 10am @ the old obstacle course in Hollister is our meeting time with Tim.

Back in to this time, we should shoot to be @ St Joseph's by 8:450. Gives us time to drop off the canned goods, talk to St Joseph folks and leave by 9am.
Give us 1 hr to drive from St Joseph's, get to Hollister, check-in and meet Tim @ the old obstacle course.

What do you guys think of the timing? 8:30 St Joseph's?

Begs the question of where and what time do you guys want to meet prior to St. Joseph. I will be driving from 880 to 101. Is Morgan Hill an option (gas up) for meet up and then drive down together to St Joseph's?

Let me know.

Brenton, let's still meet in Morgan Hill @ 8:30am tomorrow.

But the food drop off will be the Hollister Community Pantry instead of St Joseph's.

Actually, makes it more convenient for us; same path/route we take to get to Hollister SVRA. Meaing 101S, 25 but instead of turning right on San Benito, we make a left. That's San Felipe Rd. Only 1 block away.

Address:
Hollister Community Pantry
1133 San Felipe Drive
Hollister CA 95023
(831) 637-0340
www.communitypantry.com

Our contact is: Mary Anne Hughes

Larry, the warehouse manager, or Lourdes, admin, will greet us between 9-10am. They look forward to seeing us and our donated canned goods.

The Food Drive benefits both St Joseph's and this Community Center!

I suppose it might be a little late to post this, but I just arrived in Oakland a little while ago. Is anyone going down from the East Bay who I might be able to tag along with tomorrow? That would at least let me be there for the Rubicon clinic and to be able to pay my trip fee to Tim. I'm in Montclair, in the Oakland hills to be specific...

Dan, likewise here; didn't get read your post last night till now. If you are up and still want a ride, I am taking Hwy 4 to 680. Call my cell if you can meet me on the 680/580 intersection.

I am leaving in a few; eta on the intersection about 7:30 and then meeting up with Brento (giving Chuck a ride) 8:30am Morgan Hill. 9:30am canned food drop (do our good deed for the day) and then Tim at the old obstacle course 10am.
