Calling Mike - where can we get more NCLR flags?
I use a rear hitch utility tray (made by Bottorf Fabrication BTW - one of our sponsors) on occassion for long trips (carry 3 cans of gasoline and 1 canister of water) or shorter camping trips carry BBQ grill/firewood.
I attached a fiber glass whip pole and bright flag to remind myself (and my wife) we have a tray back there (when in use) before we forget and ended up smashing someone's hood. Hasn't happened yet - just doing preventive stuff.
Anyways, search for the right flag. USA flag = Good especially on 4th of July and Veterans Day. Plain orange flag = Ok but borring. Aha. Found a NCLR flag made sometime ago (found my flag).
Would be great for Pismo trips also, or change flag and dress for the occassion when watching your favorite college play like UC Berkeley Bears, Oregon Ducks...
Just a thought.
1) There's my NCLR flag up.
2) See the mounting hardware I used bolted unto the tray and clamps down on the flag. Also drilled a small hole dia of the pole @ the bottom of the tray to add stability on my mounting system.
Simple and easy. .75 hardware and elbow grease to do the drilling. Pole from broken pcs of flag from a trip to Pismo beach; so instead of throwing it away, I removed the broken part and re-used. Will need to be min 8 ft from the ground in order for it to be in complaince with Pismo rules: http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/pages/1170/f...01-2010_OD.pdf - for now serves as reminder for us we have a tray back there.
3) Pic from the inside. Again, most important for me/wife, a flag or something is visible for us from the inside and as reminder we have a utility tray back there. Flag is removal and install a different flag depending on the occassion (game day, 4th of July, etc....).
As a side note, you can see our fridge back there; unstrapped yes. Strapped down well when the DII is moving.
Anyone else interested in NCLR flags?
